May 25th  ’18 the new European legislation about GDPR – General Data Protection Regulation – will be enforced. After 4 years of debating and the approval on April 14th ‘16 by the European Parliament, GDRP will finally shake up our business landscape about data regulation. Each company will be required to identify and secure all the personal data a company owns. As a company, regardless of the industry, you have the responsibility to coordinate every action to meet the mandatory rules imposed by the EU.  A few examples of actions you should keep in mind: transparency in your GDPR approach, identifying data leaks, your employees needs GDPR-training, data collection procedures, saving procedures and the appointment of a DPO (Data Protection Officer) – for bigger companies -. Those who are not compliant with EU-GDPR regulations risk a fine of 4% on total revenue of the previous financial year!

The logistics sector is rapidly evolving towards data-sharing initiatives and digitalization. As such, being compliant with the GDPR regulation should be a topic to not forget about.
